Blind Owl). My yard played the rain and I did the rest.

I created the sound on solo guitar using a Lexicon MPX G2 running an octave pitch shift and a moog filter set for a sweet spot frequency. That combination of effects is amazing on the G2. I'll usually create a patch to a foot pedal for the frequency. You end up with a super wah, similar to the frequency property of a parametric eq. It can be very interesting with a tube amp but you need to be careful not to toast the amp with low end (there is a wide range of frequencies created). But it's really sick when connected to a full range stereo system especially after adding delays and Lexicon reverb.

The melody for the guitar solo evolved from a scat solo I did when playing the song live with just guitar and voice. I'm not much of an electric guitarist but I'm happy with the solo I got. I rarely get a chance to play the solo live on electric guitar but it's a pretty melody and fun to play.

Cool this Summer by Bob Sellon

It's hot, so hot
but still I want you near
I cannot feel the rain
but I hear it everywhere

Cool this summer
Cool like rain
Cool this summer
Cool like rain

Fallin, fallin, fallin down
Can you get it
Cool this, cool this, cool this town
Everybody's ready

Cool this summer
Cool like rain
Cool this summer
Cool like rain
