Like the original JamMan, the new Stec Special ROM generates a MIDI
clock output that is syncronized to the audio loops. The MIDI clock output
allows drum machines and/or MIDI sequencers to play along with the JamMan
loops in perfect syncronization while still allowing the operator to TAP
in the tempo in real time.
The MIDI clock output is automatically adjusted to match the size of
the loops so the drum machine or sequencer lines up perfectly with the
loops no matter what tempo you TAP in.
This is really great for improvised pieces where the exact tempo has
not been nailed down until the actual performance.
Set up
Setting up to use MIDI clock is usually quite simple:
1. Connect a MIDI cable from the MIDI Out of the
JamMan to the MIDI In on the drum machine or sequencer.
2. Set the "Number of beats" on the JamMan to match
the time signature of the music vs the size of the loops
3. Set the drum machine/sequencer for external MIDI
clock (not always necessary)
Note that the number of clocks that are output per loop are based on
the number of beats defined for the loop.
