JamMan Special ROM V0.2 Users Guide
Slap Delay <go back to table of contents>

The Slap Delay was something I added to make the JamMan more useable in "stand alone" configurations. It basically provides a simple delay on the input signal which is independent of loop time. In the absence of reverb, it gives the direct signal a bit more body.

The slap delay appears before the looper in the signal chain so audio is recorded into the loop memory with the slap added (though it seems like less than is audible on the direct signal). In this way, certain loops can be recorded dry while others can be recorded with slap delay.

Controls are provided for the slap time (the amount of delay provided by the slap) and the signal level of the slap on using the MODE and SELECT knobs. Both of these parameter can be controlled via MIDI as well. The Slap delay can also be toggled on and off using a MIDI program change message.
