Prevent Computer Problems in Warm Weather

If you notice that you always start having computer problems as the warm weather kicks in, you should probably check around your computer for dust bunnies or anything else that might block air flow. Computers need to stay cool so you want to vacuum around your computer and even the fan vents on the computer itself when the warm weather comes in to avoid a lot of problems.

If you are brave and perhaps experienced, it's a good time of the year to do some light vacuuming inside the chassis. And we do mean light. Try to move the wires as little as possible and try not to touch anything. You mainly want to avoid zapping anything with static electricity or knock a connector loose. The static electricity is less of an issue when the air is muggy but you still need to be careful. Static electricity can be death to electronic devices, especially the inner parts of a computer. The outer parts have been designed to divert the static electricity away from the circuitry but the innards are much less so, so be careful.

Cleaning is easy and cheap, and could more than double the life of your computer so go do it.
